Safe and Loved Empty Safe and Loved

Post by sunmystic April 12th 2012, 1:19 pm

"Whoever you are - wherever you are on your spiritual journey - you are welcome here. You are safe and you are loved."

This is a quote from Wind-Dancer's introduction to the Forum on the forum's home page. Is this a forum mandate or a preferred forum goal? If it is a mandate, then how do we as message board members and staff create and maintain this reality? Suggestions anybody/everybody?

We can make everyone welcome, we can show our love to everyone, but how can we guarantee we can keep someone safe, or guarantee there safety? Just a thought.

Folks talk about the necessity for "honesty and truth". Sometimes "honesty and truth" compromise one's feeling of safety and loved. At what point should one, if ever, temper the presentation of "honesty and truth"? "Honesty and truth" can be cruel. At the same time if one feels that another person is headed down the wrong path, then they should probably say something. Everybody is welcome as long as they, "what?" Creating a loving safe reality in the middle of a all are welcome reality is wonderful goal as well as an interesting challenge Smile

One cannot see the other person from a computer screen.
One only knows as much as one wants another to know.

So, my thoughts are treat another as one would like to be treated.
If one has nothing positive/good to say, don't say anything or keep neutral.

Honesty is good, but sometimes silence is better.

I don't know if you are laying in bed paralysed from the waist down sunny, all I see is your avatar.
All I know about you is what you want me to know.

I could be in a womens prison as an inmate.

Vanilla could be 15yrs old bunking off school ..... see what I mean.

I say treat all with love and respect, speak kindly and be friendly, show an interest in their words xx

"The mandate" to all of this message board's staff and this message board's members is written in the introduction page to this website.

Can you think of any reason why an intelligent loving adult can not do this if they are given the power and the permission to do this?

If one looks at the member list of this message board, most of the folks that joined made one or at most a few posts and then left. And most of the past staff has also left and these past staff members were all very intelligent, loving, and compassionate people. Why did everybody leave? This is a beautiful message board and it is a gift to the loving, the whole thing makes no sense to me.

Safe and Loved Empty Lets give people what they want....

Post by sunmystic April 12th 2012, 4:28 pm

My suggestion is, "Lets give people what they want." Lets divide this message board into two sections, one section for, "spiritual journey people only", and one section for, "Everyone is welcome!" The "spiritual people only" section will follow precisely the mandate written on the introduction page to this forum. And the other section we will "sort of" let God sort things out and see were they go Smile . That way we would have a "Holy" section for those so inclined; and a "Holy Smokes" section with a bit of an open carnival atmosphere for those so inclined in that direction. Kind of like having a spiritual monastery on a hill with a trading village and carnival at the base of it. Activity is the life of a message board; and newbes are the life of a message board. Well Shepherd one Smile saints to the left and wolves to the right and I can get along with and handle both Smile

I don't know if I could cope with that sunny.
The boards I use have to have what I call safe energy.
A place where I can just relax, not worry about becoming uptight with others energy.
There are not many like that, but I have a couple.

I liked the board how it was, it was a lovely happy place, I felt wanted, liked, accepted.

I don't feel any of that now.

We laughed, played, chatted.

The vibration was high.

I still come here hoping.

One just doesn't go there if they don't want too. Anyway not to worry, because sir won't do it. It is just a wild idea that should not be taken seriously. Things really should stay the way that they are. Hey Vanilla Smile we are going to get a staff only place out of the public eye!

That is the best place to discuss the board, in a private room

I have a suggestion.

This works on other boards.

A main moderator for each section?

This board has many sections, so, perhaps we could choose what we have knowledge of.

And post in it when we can/have time.

They are all good ideas, i respect everyones opinion, views, and questions. To be painfully honest i am not very good at handle decisions, i do my best to keep peace when it is needed and even then, i find it is a challenge. We are all equal even with any title that may be under a name. I have always had difficulty with ranks, i feel it can bring out egotistic intentions which is why i try very hard to stay on a humble approach to these forums. Believe me if i could remove myself from the administrators position i would gladly do this. Wanted this place to be different from the rest, no ranks no pressure, just sharing, learning, and finding balance in life and spiritual. We could use a room for discussions this would be really good, and then we can go from there.
