Post by Aussiepom May 3rd 2013, 11:54 am

To receive a message from someone I knew 60 years ago.

This is a story rather than about spirit, but an episode in my life.

When I was 16 years old,one of our neighbours was a young chap aged 21 years. He was in the Merchant navy.
A young stocky fellow who often spoke shyly to me now and again. We became friendly in a boy and a girl way.
Like you did in those days....nothing special but just good friends.

He asked me out on a date one day. I approached my father asked if I could go out with this young man. You did in those days. Parents were strict. My father frowned and said 'No'! His reason being was that the young man was too old for me! Duh

We did make arrangements to meet on the quiet. At the end of the road,he said! Oh,I was so excited! My first date! Loves

A little touch of lipstick and off I went.... He never turned up! Sad
I was so upset....but I found out later that he had turned up! I went to one end of the road and he went to the other.
I lost touch with him through the years and married another man. I forgot about the first man.He married too.

A few months ago I received a message from a friend who is on another site.

It went like this!

The reading.

“hi jojo remember me?” oh he is a man, funny kind of, big man, I would say fat but he is really well build and tall and takes his space. Maybe loves to have a drink or 2, there is a nice small of alcohol connected to him but he is not an alcoholic or something like that.
Mustache you can’t miss that, dark skin colour as is spending much time in the sun.. and i have the smell of sea coming from him.. fisherman? seaman? there is some fish smell related. he was older then you.. he tells me" he drinks to your health - the party keeps going on.." he is sitting in a kind of a tavern or something like that, he traveled much in his life, saw one too many things. a someone who used to know how to tell a good story.
You broke his heart? His heart is broken, not why he passed, it is a pain, love pain of some sort, not sure if it was you, but after his heart got broken he never really loved anyone else. For a while you were part of his life but your ways parted, he never forgot you.
He has no message just saying Hi. Showing me his glass.'

I couldn't remember this man. Racked my brains but no memories of him.
Interest in spiritualism came into my life and I was given a guide. A tall well built man with black hair who also resembled someone I knew in the past. Couldn't remember who....
Haven't seen him in my dreams for a long time.

A week ago,I was reading my book, back to the window,so couldn't see who was near the front door.
But in my mind,I 'saw' this man. Turning away from the front door and leaving. I turned round and went to the door, opened it but no one there.
I was puzzled by this occurence.
Wondering who he was.... he had white hair and a white beard. Tall, stocky and handsome even in old age.
I have also dreamed of someone sitting beside me on a plan,.same image. For some reason this man reminded me of the young sailor I knew many years ago.

This is all happening in the present now.
Why should I suddenly be receiving a message or dreaming or seeing this man after all these years?

Has he passed over recently? Is he trying to tell me?

And what should I do about it?

Hi Joan,
Maybe a bit of unfinished business.
Write him a letter and see what comes to you
while you write.I often do this.It may help.

It could be many things.
He could have passed and never forgot you either and is letting you know he comes around.
He is really ill and has actually left his physical but yet is not dead yet.
Your guides are changing
Your guides feel visuals of this man will bring you comfort at this time of your life.
Something about the experience above you need to be aware of. Is there someone in your life your supposed to meet and afraid they wont show or you dont really want to go ? Sames scenareo and there using the past one to show you you should actually go.
He is just saying hi to you because he can.
No matter what it is talk to him... Tell him what you feel.. do it outloud or do it in your head.. if he has passed he will hear you and know your thoughts and feelings.
Nothing about it has a negative feel at all...enjoy the memories,

Thank You Laura ann. That sounds good to me and also,Stephen what you have suggested. He is a friend I have never thought of for years.
You are correct,Laura ann in what you say.

Yes.I have been invited to meet up with someone I know as a net friend. But not quite sure if I should do this. Nothing wrong with that,I trust them but I always feel uncomfortable with people I have never met before.
Not really a shy person but more reserved....until I get know them better.

That is good advice you have given me,Laura ann and I really appreciate it.
Been quite shocked at the thought of someone I haven't seen for years suddenly appearing in my life again.

Bless you both..... Blow Kiss

Joan x

I have a feeling he has passed to spirit,Laura ann. I think the reading I was given a while ago,was from him.
Letting me know he is in spirit. I had another reading from a medium telling me that someone I knew had passed over a short while ago in a nursing home. Now wondering if that was the man I knew from long ago. It was a brief message, that was all I got. Ah well, time will tell....nice to know he still remembered me from so long ago.

Talking about memories, have you heard of Friends Reunited? I went on there this morning, first time for ages!
Found my old school and some old class mates.... Very Happy

Joan x

Joan, That is very interesting. I have had people from my past, who I would least expect visit me from the other side, but I really feel that they are all part of our soul group and if we weren't that close to them in this life we probably have been in other lifetimes so that is why they appear.

Why don't you go on Ancestry or one of those sights and see if you can find out if and when he passed it might give you a clue as to why he is visiting you or if it doesn't at least you would know he has passed and you will see him again someday!

You can also ask your guides to help bring him to you in a dream again and you can ask him why he has come to you lately.

Let us know what happens!

You read my mind,Taurus.... Laughing

Was thinking the exact same thing this morning. I actually went on to Friends United this morning.
Had a dig around for a short while but haven't seen anything yet.
We both lived in the same town and parents were neighbours.
But not sure what school he went to.
To be honest I didn't really know much about him because being in the navy he was away a lot of the time.
His mother was a bit 'snooty' (nose in the air...if you know what I mean...) Laughing

Will have a look at Genes Reunited though....

Thanks Taurus.... Hugs

Joan, if you want to PM me his information I will have a look at Ancestry for you. I have quite a bit of luck on this site. I have been doing my family tree for almost 3 years now.
