Redshift
Science has just seen the oldest thing in the universe. Its called a redshift. Its an after effect of a massive star explision. It sends gamma ray bursts that show up very brightly. Its the furthest away weve seen ever (12 billion years). THis is a time called the dark period of the universe where there werent many starts, and they werent nearly as bright. IT was the largest gamma burst ever recorded. Is it a coincedence that this is happening now????? I dont think so!

Re: Redshift
The coolest part is that its almost as old as the universe... so we were exposed to energy that was around when the universe was young. I have no idea what that means for us.... i think the atmosphere would have bloked anything harmful.

Re: Redshift
We didnt even know about the redshifts till about 10 years ago. Science has been finding out more and more about the beginning of the universe, which means the beginning of ourselves.

Re: Redshift
I think it's amazing how science has been able to discover beyond the planet earth, and like you said canadianmind we are getting closer with each new discovery to finding the beginning of ourselves. I have never heard of red shift but i do feel it is happening for a reason. Life is full of new discoveries & new experiences.

Re: Redshift
Yes for sure...... I still dont totaly understand how science and religion cant get along though. THe further we look into space and the more we see and understand, the closer we are to finding our beginnings.... and in my opinion thats what religion is about, finding out where we came from, and understanding our place in the universe. Odly enough this is what astronomy and psysics and many othre branches of science try to accomplish.
