What sort of protection would you suggest? I was not feeling concerned about protection, to be honest. I suppose to help disperse negative energies in general, I have been lighting palo santo and a positivity candle before these meditations...

I am Crow. I am looking for a place to find support and comradery and ideas from like-minded folk who are also viewing their lives as spiritual journeys. I am a mama, a wife, a direct care professional (support folks who have developmental disabilities and mental health issues), an artist (out of practice, but trying to find time for this again). I have learned from many different religions and belief systems. I do not claim any as my own. Recently I have been trying to reconnect with my higher power, to gain a conscious contact with a higher power. I realize that there are steps I must take, the first one being the willingness and desire to connect. I have been practicing mindfulness and meditation. I recently have been trying to communicate with a spirit guide. This is somewhat new to me, but I had some success today through a guided hypnosis meditation. I felt a "hand" over my hand and my baby's hand when I was trying to communicate. It is not as clear of a communication as I suppose I was hoping for, but I am grateful to feel finally that I am not alone when I am alone--that I may have some sort of spirit guide with me. I am interested to hear your thoughts and experiences with this. Thank you. I am glad to be here.
