Prayer request for Fiona please.

Thank you, thank you everyone, for all of your continued support, Fiona has come out of her 2/3 day induced coma. Quote: from Dave last night.
she has been sitting up, is beginning to talk a bit more and tomorrow they are going to try getting her to walk?? I cant believe it? 3 days ago we were on stand bye to say our last cheerios, Miracles do happen after all.

Ive always heared that its hard for a parent to loose there child. But for a grandparent to loose their grandchildren, I couldnt imagine how that feels. My healing energies will be directed from "accross the pond".

my prayers are still with them everynight,and will continue.

They put Fiona back on oxygen yesterday as she is having trouble breathing, they also drained some fluid from her tumor-ed knee, I believe to relieve some pain. Fiona is a fighter but still has a very long way to go, they will restart her chemo once she regains her strength.
Sad news yesterday, Dave asked if we could also pray for Fiona's friend Carol aged 23 who had terminal cancer, on a few occasions they both took comfort in each other in the hospital, unfortunately our prayers came a little too late, she passed away yesterday afternoon.

I am deeply sorry to hear about your friend's passing...

I will send prayers, & healing energies that Fiona will make great progress..

Today from 10am Fiona is now undergoing a 7 hour operation to remove/rebuild her cancerous knee, if it does not go to there plan, this may be the point they decide to amputate.

Quoting from Dave's post yesterday evening:

She has been suffering severe pains in her knee for some time(Where the Primary) Tumor is.
She went for keyhole surgery on it today to see if they could find out what was causing the pain, seems when they opened the knee, the tumor spilled out"all live cells", they sewed it back up straight away as basically this means that the tumor instead of shrinking has taken over the knee.
She is now going in for an operation tomorrow(SEVEN HOURS) where they will remove the tumor, remove the knee cap and the femur, she will have a Titanium rod inserted in place of the Bone and a metal knee cap,
They hope that removing the tumor will allow the Chemo when they start it again to be be strong enough to beat the cancer in the lungs.
If however this does not work the only alternative is amputation from the Hip.
We are all stunned to say the least this came out of the blue we thought it was going to be a simple job today of draining the fluid. However as usual Fiona is focused and although scared(First time I have heard her admit it) we are all hoping and praying that this will be the beginning of her recovery: Un-quote

Good news they have managed to get all the tumor out, another week they said and it would have meant amputation as it would have been too late. Fiona still has to undergo chemo for her lung cancer and whatever other part of her body it has spread to, so is not in the clear yet, still has a long way to go, bit by bit she is clearing her next hurdle.
I can only say that someone is surely looking down on her.

Apologies, please disregard previous statement, Dave was a little premature, apparently they now have to wait for the pathology report to know if all the cancer from the leg was removed, if not it will mean more surgery and they cannot rule out possible amputation. The specialist is concerned about her lungs in that it seems they have got worse. Apparently the chemo isn't working as well as doctors thought, he has ordered lots more tests such as CT, MRI Bone scans etc to determine just how bad the lungs are and if it has spread anywhere else in the body. After the tests have been done a plan of care will be formulated they may try other forms of Chemo, surgery or other things, it is case of standing at the crossroads waiting to see which direction to take, the specialist has said the Cancer is very aggressive and the more that is removed now, the better.

I'm still sending my prayers to Fiona,Dave and peter my heart goes out Fiona's suffering as well as lynda's and pray wholeheartly with tears in my eyes at the moment.May God please grant our prayers for a full recovery,a second chance.

Thank you everybody, they let Fiona come home from hospital yesterday, not sure at this stage what the next plan is, but I believe she is in good spirits at the moment but still with pain. They did manage in the end to get all the cancer out from her knee which is another hurdle over with, but one big hurdle still to go.

I will continue to send prayers, & healing energies for her....

I believe Fiona is undergoing a 10 hour dangerous operation today to remove cancer from around her lungs, the family had it confirmed to them only yesterday that it is terminal

The latest, they seem to have removed "all of the cancerous tissue" yet to be confirmed by an MRI.
Dave said they had problems to reach the tumors so had to make some more incisions and remove two of her ribs, but he says Quote: We are happy at the moment and she is doing well. Thanks again for all your prayers and concern.

Fiona went back into hospital yesterday, she has now contracted swine flu, her immune system was shutting down, she has been such a fighter, I'm certain she will pull through this as well.

Another hurdle! My prayers are with her!

Update on Fiona, she did manage to conquere her swine flu
Dave has now left his forum but is posting on another where I have seen the update on Fiona, which is looking good.

Quoting: We decided as a Famiy to give her that slim chance, and she underwent a 15 hour operation, 3 days later they did more tests only to find that the tumour had reappeared in her leg and that 3 other tumours had appeared in her lung? They decided to once again operate on her leg take the rod out and clean it and whilst doing that to go in and remove the Tumour, and send it for a biopsy, if it came back positive then they would probably have to amputate.
we received the dreaded news this morning. IT IS DEAD? the tumour is 95% dead, the Chemotherapy has worked, the tumours in the lung are minute compared to the one in the leg, The Doctors now say that she has a 90% chance of a complete recovery? she still has another 4 treatments of Chemo to go through and these they hope will also kill the tumours in the lungs.

wow that is amazing i am very happy to hear that her condition has lessened. To me it is a miracle, i believe prayers bring forth miracles.
