Help for son please

I would like to send light your way but as of late i have had my own struggles with pain pills. That is the reason for my absence for so long i too struggle with addictions its not easy. Depression will always try to talk you into the easy way out, but what i have found out is in my case the way out of the depression was being here with all the Light you guys give out the positiveness and the Love. Your son will get through this i will pray for him tonight, that i can do to ask god and the angels to watch over him and guide him in the right direction. You are wonderful for taking him in, my mother did the same for me when i was out there drugging, oh yeah i was reckless. I certainly do not want to go back in that direction so here i am back where i should be. Love you guys.

do words go along with any specific action
at the first degree of Reiki,
for example, what would it sound or be likened to...?

No. First degree mostly focusses on intention, & training us to feel the energy.

The only thing that would use words, is when somebody comes to me for a session, I would explain the process of the session. Where my hands would be? Does the person want to sit or lay down? That kind of thing.

But once the session starts, there are no words that I say outloud.

My two intentions are:
1. To help the person heal themself
2. Focus on how the energy feels in my hands, & how the energy feels around the other person.

I've heard that in the second degree reiki, they work with symbols. But I'm not quite ready to start that class yet. I plan on taking that class, but dont't quite have the time yet.

Not to pass my own internal struggles onto you Serenity as you work toward becoming a better healer but I wonder lately, as one who has assisted the Spirits in healing as well, do we place limitations upon the act of healing by insisting that the one in need of healing must heal themselves?
What about a baby born with a heart condition and the overwhelming compassion it brings out in us?
What about being at the scene of a car accident, can we help there if they are unconscious?
What about the stories of Jesus raising the dead, did they have some previous agreement?
Again, I don’t bring this up to confuse anyone with my own questions but I wonder about such things and I wonder if we limit ourselves by what we are told is protocol in such things as healing.
I am beginning to see the fluidity in all things and how whenever we try to explain or even understand with our minds that we immediately lose something.
I’m curious what your thoughts are as I value your opinion based on the wonderful heart you bring to this forum.

WhiteShaman, you bring up some good points.

Here's what I believe:
-- When someone comes to me asking for a session, or I offer it to someone. I always get a verbal consent.
-- It is my position to offer the other person the healing/reiki energy. (So I have an active part in the healing process.) The body of the other person takes only the energy that they need to heal themselves. So that the physical, emotional, & spiritual body receives the energy I am offering. (So they too have an active part in the healing process.)
-- Plus the healing energy comes from God, (Or Universal Life Force). Whatever each of our personal beliefs are. We alone do not have the power to heal, but through God -- we are given healing energies. (There's another important element to the healing process -- God) Am I making sense so far?

So if I come across someone who is not able to give a verbal consent, & no family member around to give it for him/her. I don't feel limited.
-- I consider healing of all kinds, to have the same intent. If you found a person laying unconscious, you would still phone the ambulance, do CPR if necessary, & the same with a healing session. So I would definately do a healing session on someone who couldn't speak.
-- I also believe that everyone has a Higher Self, So when in doubt, I just simply ask the other person's Higher Self for permission.
-- When a person says no, or even if they're uncertain to getting a session. Means that's when I am limited, & I respect their rights. But when they are unconscious, it is more compassionate, & caring to do everything you can to help them.

So everybody has an active part in the healing process, the other person, me, & God.

I think the hardest thing that healers have to go through is seeing some situations that really do bring out the compassion in us, for the people that are sick.

Son is getting there slowly.
We had his 7yr old here for Christmas and today we have his 12yr old for New Year.
He is still cannabis free.
Lots has happened inbetween, visits from mental health team, police (he threatened his ex's new bloke)bursts of anger, despair, begging, crying, etc.
I took time off work to be with him.
Daughter sent me out to visit my other boys and I didnt want to go home, I drove and drove, but I did turn round and go back.
He went away for 2 days and I cleansed and reikied my house, filled it with Light to get rid of all the negativity.
I lit candles and meditated, it was sooo good to have my haven back.
I so love my peaceful home.

I understand what you have been going through. Although i do not have any children, i sometimes have felt negative emotions or energies being sent out into the home, from family members or friends. Just as i have done many times during my life.

It's very difficult to handle negative emotions or energies when we are in such a peaceful loving state. Just as it's difficult for others to deal with our negative emotions & energies when they are in a Peaceful Loving state.

One thing i've learned is Negative Energies can affect positive Energies in unhealthy ways & Positive Energies can affect negative energies in much Healthier Loving ways. Sometimes to help someone else through these tough times we have to ride the storm, by putting ourself out there & in the process we feel like we are losing ourselves in the mix. But you see you had time to cleanse your house from these Energies and Create a more positive atmosphere once again, i do hope it lasts for you Mia and i hope that maybe little by little the positive Energies are flowing to your son.

His inner struggle and my watching and picking up the pieces.
It will be worth it in the end.
Every other night, I pull the black gunk from inside of him and cleanse and fill him with Light and love.

Here is an update.
Son is now in another relationship, his new partner is a lovely lady with 3 children of her own and has an adopted grandad, who is mentally handicapped living with her too.
A very caring lady.
Son is happy, his ex and he arew friends and his children visit him regularly and stay with him.

However.
I now have my youngest with me.
Another with marriage problems, slightly different from eldest sons.
