I overcame my fear of driving through mountains Empty I overcame my fear of driving through mountains

Post by Linda June 17th 2013, 5:04 pm

I have had this fear of driving through mountains, going DOWNHILL was the worst. I Live in Phoenix, Arizona and up north, through mountains is my favorite place in the whole wide world. Cave Springs Campground, at Oak Creek, in Sedona, Arizona. My Dad took our family camping there hundreds of times. I was talking to a Psychic friend of mine, and told her how I love to go up there, but am sooooo scared coming back, there is this one curve down the mountain, that overlooks Bumblebee, a little city. She picked up, that in another life, I used to Live right there, at my favorite spot where the campground now is, and that I would sit at the creek for hours on end, and lay and watch the clouds. In that lifetime, One winter, my family packed the horses to make the trip down to Phoenix to visit relatives for Christmas, it was snowing, and right there where my most fear is, is where the horses did not see the road, and we all went tumbling and screaming down the mountain to our deaths. That explains why.
My husband does not see as well as he used to, so we have not been to Sedona in so many years. I refused to drive there, so we have missed out on camping trips.
My cousin Diane's husband passed away last week. I felt it was important to go to the service and to take my Dad. My Cousin's husband is the Doctor that healed my Dad with Acupuncture, when my Dad's face drooped after having a stroke, he put my dad's face back to normal, and for that I am forever grateful. She lives in Show Low, Arizona, and it is up north, "over the river and through the woods" I asked my husband if he would take us. He said "No, you're a big girl, you go." so I invited my Dad and took him to the service. Here goes:
The Road Trip to Show Low was a breeze.... my Sister Patsy Galaviz was the navigator, so I didn't have to use a map to get there. She drives for a profession, and gave me driving tips along the way...."Use your side mirrors, don't depend on the rear-view mirror", anytime I would look through my rear view mirror, she would make a face at me......."Keep a light pole distance behind all traffic, so i...f something happens ahead, I have time to stop", etc. I felt comfortable driving up the mountains to get to Show Low. I felt protected with all your Prayers, and even saw something magical happen when we stopped in Payson. Do you remember the movie "Avatar"? The HOMETREE that had those jellyfish looking things that floated from it? I saw one float over my car and disappear. I felt that was a message to me that everything was gonna be OK (-: I was glad we made the trip, My sister, Dad and I were the only family members of my Cousin Diane, that was able to go to the funeral service for her husband. It was a touching service, they had the Military Taps Tribute, 3 gun salute. It made me and Patsy cry, we got Dad's hankie and were playing tug of war with it, "I need it, no I need it". and then, the Father of the Catholic Church said, there was going to be a break, that if anyone wanted to go to CONFESSION, he would be in the back. So Patsy said, come on, let's go to CONFESSION, and she bolted to the back. I thought "NO, I don't wanna CONFESS, God has already forgiven me, I don't need to go tell a Priest about it." Then I thought "mmmm, If Patsy is gonna confess, maybe I should too, so I went to the back, and didn't see her in the confessional, I walked outside, and there she was smoking a cigarette. I told her "hey, I thought you were gonna confess,? she chuckled at me. So I just went back in the Church and sat with my Dad. He said "Patsy's been in there a long time, she must have a lot to confess" I told him, she's outside smoking. We both laughed. After the Service, there was an Irish Bagpipe Trio, playing music after the service. We spent the night at Hon-Dah Casino and came back yesterday. I thought it was gonna be a breeze coming back too, but it wasn't as easy coming back from Show Low, downhill from 6500 feet elevation. I took it slow though, was not comfortable doing those downhill curves at the recommended 65 mph, so I would slow it down to 55. Patsy would bop me on the head anytime I tapped on the brakes. She would tease me anytime a Semi Truck passed me, and even a truck pulling a boat passed me. She said, "Nooooooo! a Boat is passing you!" I told her, "I know, even birds are passing me, but I am comfortable at this speed." So thank you all for your Prayers, everything worked out fine, I am now looking forward to driving to my favorite place in the whole wide world.......Cave Springs Campground, at Oak Creek, in Sedona, Az. Who's up for a camping trip?

Hello Greetings and Wellcome Joan and Stephemn, sorry bout the typos, for some reason, this site does not let me correct my spelling.  I am not really "Administration"  I am just a member, like you two.  Spirit Beign Being is the Admin and Creator of this beautiful site.  He has been away for awhile, and at one point, there was a SPAMMER, putting links to sell wigs on every topic.  So he gave me and a few other "regulars" Admin power, so that we could delete the SPAMMERS.  Wishing you All, PEACE, LOVE AND HAPPINESS! I just LOVE the movie Avatar, and when I shared with one of my customers that I saw one of those jellyfish looking things fly over my car, like the ones from HOME TREE, she looked at me like I was coo coo nuts.  I guess I can't share that experience with everyone.  Glad I got to share it with you guys here.
