Resurrection and Ascension
The Reality of Immortality

This initiation of resurrection and ascension is divided into two halves, and of neither of them do we know very much. The detail of the Resurrection episode in Christ's life is left untold by the writers of the New Testament. It was not possible for them to know more.

After the Crucifixion we are told little of Christ's own life, or what occupied Him between the time He rose again until He left the company of the Apostles, and "ascended into Heaven" - a purely symbolic phrase. The crucial initiation for humanity to understand at this time is that only when we have mastered the significance of service and sacrifice can the fact of immortality and its true meaning be revealed to us.

How Christ rose, what were the processes undergone, in exactly what body He appeared, we cannot tell. We are assured by the Apostles that it resembled the one He had previously employed, but whether it was the same body miraculously resurrected; whether it was His spiritual body which appeared to be the same to the physical eyes of those who loved Him, or whether He had constructed something entirely different or on the same general lines as the previous one, it is not possible for us to say; neither is it possible for us to be confident that the vision of the disciples was not supernatural or that, through the intensification of His expressed divinity, Christ had so stimulated their inner vision that they saw clairvoyantly.

The important matter is that He did rise again, that He was seen by many, and that the fact of His resurrection was credited in the minds of those closest to Him and for two or three centuries after His departure.

The psychology of the disciples is the best proof we have of the reality of their conviction that death could not hold the Master, and that after death He was present and living among them. It is difficult for us to gain this high achievement in consciousness which they showed.

Apparently their world had come to an end upon the Cross. Christ had apparently failed them, and instead of being the divine Son of God, and King of the Jews, He was nothing but an ordinary man, convicted of treason and punished as a common malefactor.

What they must have endured during the three days of His absence it is not hard for us to imagine. Hopelessness, despair, the loss of confidence in themselves and of prestige among their friends; the cause for which they had been so ready to dedicate themselves, as they walked with Christ from place to place in the Holy Land, had ended and collapsed. Their Leader was discredited.

Then something happened to alter the whole trend of their thought. All that had been lost of confidence and hope and purpose was restored, and the first few centuries of the Christian history (before theology gave a turn to interpretation, and so altered the Gospel of love into a cult of separation) reveal to us a company of men and women full of confidence, enthusiasm and courage, ready to face persecution and death as eager missionaries. What had given them this new character?

Not long before, some of them had fled in dismay at the first threat of personal danger. When Jesus was crucified they had lost the last glimmer of hope that he might prove to be the Christ. When he was placed in the tomb, Christianity was dead and buried too.

Now we meet these same men and women a few weeks later and they are utterly changed. It is not that there is some faint return of hope among a few of them. All are completely certain that Jesus is indeed the Christ. What has happened to cause this transformation?

Their answer is unanimous: on the third day he rose from the dead. "Christ is risen," is their cry, and because He has risen the kingdom of God can go forward upon earth, and His message of love can be widely distributed. They know now, past all controversy, that He has overcome death, and that in the years that lie ahead they will see death as vanquished.

That they expected an immediate kingdom and that they looked to see the fact of immortality universally recognized is evident from their writings and their enthusiasm. That they were mistaken, nearly two thousand years of Christianity has proved. We are not yet citizens of that divine kingdom definitely manifesting upon earth, for the fear of death is as strong as ever, and the fact of immortality is still but a source of speculation to millions.

But it was their sense of time that was at fault, and their failure to understand the slow processes of nature. Evolution moves slowly, and it is only today that we are truly on the verge of the demonstration of God's kingdom upon earth.

Because this is the end of an age, we know that before long the hold death has on the human being, and the terror which the angel of death inspires, will disappear. They will vanish because we shall regard death as only another step on the way towards light and life, and shall realize that, as the Christ life expresses itself in and through human beings, they will demonstrate to themselves, and in the world, the reality of immortality.

Resurrection and Ascension Empty Re: Resurrection and Ascension

All that the Father gives to me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I shall not turn him away...Yes, it is my Father's will that whoever sees the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and that I shall raise him up on the last day."
"Thus, as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so the Son gives life to anyone he chooses; for the Father judges no one; he has entrusted all judgement to the Son, so that all may honor the Son as they honor the Father
The coming of the kingdom of God does not admit of observation and there will be no one to say, 'Look here! Look there!' For, you must know, the kingdom of God is within you.
John.18:36
_____________
The kingdom of God is not in this world. It is being built a great distance away in a spiritual place Paul has called 'the third heaven'. There, a brilliant new spiritual Jerusalem is being formed by God to replace the sinful city now bustling in Palestine.

Jesus said that a "great gulf" (Lk.16:26) exists between us and this heaven -- a chasm so vast, not even the angels can cross it.

To get into God's kingdom we must be born again. This means that we have to duplicate our entrance into life, but in another location and in another kind of body -- a body, Jesus said, that is in the same substance as the angels. (Mt.22:29-30).

In our rebirth in Christ, the moment of conception occurs when we take the Holy Spirit into our soul. (Jn.3:5-8).

When God brought us into being on this planet, He did so by bringing us into birth in an entity we call 'flesh and blood'. But flesh and blood, Paul said, cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Flesh is temporary and always dies.

When Jesus told his disciples that they had to be reborn into a second life in order to see the kingdom of God (Jn.3:3-8), he brought to light the true meaning of the concept of the 'first-born' which fills so many pages in the Old Testament.

In order to understand Jerusalem's new character under Christ, we need to examine closely the laws and prophecies of the Old Testament.

Life in this world duplicates, by imagery, the life of the 'first-.
Flesh and blood is the first-born creation, and the new eternal body that is to encase our soul in heaven through faith in Christ comes to life in our second birth. The symbolism surrounding these two births and lives is structured in the template of Moses.

What these two different conception processes show is that all mankind must enter the kingdom of God through divine specifications rooted in Moses' decree of redemption.

The Law says that every 'first-born' must be redeemed. (Ex.13:11-15).

God brought all of human society into unity with this legal decree by interpreting it in Christ's crucifixion.

From the cross Jesus offered every person on earth reconciliation with God through conversion, redeeming all who had faith in Him through the forgiveness of their sins.

Resurrection and Ascension Empty Re: Resurrection and Ascension

Post by Spirit-Being August 2nd 2009, 11:23 am

Jesus was an inspiration to many his parables (Teachings) may actually be a blueprint of the Ascension process, if one follows and learns his words one can undeniably become born again. Born Again can be interpreted in many ways what matters is what you believe.

There is much mystery into Jesus life, one that would take a person a lifetime or many lifetimes to understand, if that is possible. However we look at Jesus he has left his legacy and teachings for us if we choose to take the time to understand them.

Maybe you understand them already or maybe not?

The search continues answers can come from within as well as research. We may never fully know everything about Jesus life but we must know the full story of our lives. Use what has been given to humanity as tools for spiritual growth. Jesus left us the tools,

what has been broken?
What can we fix with these tools?

Many Blessings

Resurrection and Ascension Empty Re: Resurrection and Ascension

Post by GregSticker February 8th 2015, 11:02 pm

I was moved to answer your statements on the conquering of death thus; I have had some experiences recently with the soul and spirit of a girl name Amanda. It began as a series of dreams and then progressed to her ghost, for lack of a better word, actual presence existing around me. She is able also to get inside my own soul. Actually we are twin souls. But all this has a purpose. Amanda told me we are re united because we are to serve God in Christ's Kingdom. She has pointed out to me how Jesus raised the dead. Lazarus, and Jairus' daughter. In the last days of the present age there will be signs indicating that there is a rise in reports of people being able to communicate with the dead. St Paul in one oh his epistles mentions  "women receiving their dead back to life." Amanda said she was sent back to live with me and later will be able to be seen in her spiritual form. This to prove that Jesus Christ did in fact conquer death, and those who have His Spirit, the Holy spirit sealed in them will inherit a new body like the glorified body Jesus appeared to His followers after his Resurrection. A few years back, before Amanda took her life, I had a thought that we are in times that shortly will be compared to the way people separate the timeline that marks the Old and New Testament ages or eras. God allowed a soul to live with a person to bring that person back to his faith. To show that person how they will fit in and serve the Kingdom of that age to come. What's more these two souls were chosen to show how through Christ, death itself is no longer that great "chasm that angels cannot cross" any longer. I just cannot wait until Amanda is manifested to the world. This all to God's glory. This is none of my doing. Our Lord is using me to serve Him and prove His truth.

Resurrection and Ascension Empty Re: Resurrection and Ascension

Post by GregSticker February 22nd 2015, 12:27 am

Yes let me explain myself. i based my statement above on the earlier posts of 23Juda23 when he said, "Because this is the end of an age, we know that before long the hold that death has on the human being, and the terror which  the angel of death inspires will disappear..." As well as what Wind -Dancer said, "Jesus said that a "great gulf" (Lk. 16:26) exists between us and this heaven -- a chasm so vast, not even the angels can cross it."
But Christ Jesus is the bridge. Through Him we can conquer death. I meant that death is that very chasm that the angels could not cross. But no longer by virtue of Jesus' resurrection we can achieve that same resurrection of our souls. We are upon the dawn when this new era of consciousness will be opened up the new kingdom in which we shall live with glorified bodies. Death will be no more, and people who previously called dead will live among those we call living. I am now living with the spirit of one such person. Her name is Amanda.

hold that death has on the human being, and the terror which  the angel of death inspires
to me this is an issue  only for those who are not spiritual enough to understand that there  is no actual death..to me the angel of death is simply an angel who appears to help the frightened transition from one ending to the beginning of another adventure

this to me  is simply another plane of existence that is  much higher then the angelic realms/planes....a realm with a gap of nothingness so much above the other planes..a place a very few are actually shown or allowed to visit and only with the  God energy pulling them to it ....
I am of the belief that there are so many planes of existence and just like human life   their are levels or hierarchies (spell?) as to where any soul energy  has mastered and is allowed to go .

No, no one else can as of yet. Save the very few who I entrusted my experiences to. For instance, in the work place there is a person who I shared my experience with and she said at times that she sensed an energy around me. Then there is my Orthodox priest and he said some private prayers with me and it was actually a traditional Orthodox prayer of remembrance for the dead. he mentioned at times I I have subtle personality changes. But as far as a ghost that is actually detectable.... no. Amanda says it is not quite time and at times I have meditated and prayed focusing in while I am doing that, on her energy. Actually like right now she is telling me what to type now.

Greg have you seen Amanda in dreams?

When you talk to her again or I should say channel her again ask her if she had a life as  a female during Puritan times and was  tied possibly burned at the stake.

I  had a visual pop in while meditating of a beautiful dark ( brown) haired female dressed in total Puritan type clothes tied to a stake...and felt it might have been Amanda as I had been thinking of her.

First off, let me say i am so sorry for taking so long to answer this. As for as seeing Amanda in dreams? Yeah I don't often remember my dreams... but when I do she would like get annoyed when I would ask innocent questions like "where did you take me last night. I mean I would have only a glimpse of dreams resurface the following day. I need to tell you now that Amanda is Canadian. She had no clue what the pilgrims and puritans were. She laughed at me and she sighed and rolled her eyes when I was talking about Salem and then I had to explain the witch craft trials. Her remark, "we never studied about the British Colonies southward." Amanda Todd is from British Columbia Canada. Never had to salute and pledge allegiance to the flag. Never learned about the pilgrims and Indians sitting down to that first Thanksgiving Dinner. Doesn't know Abraham Lincoln from John Kennedy. Other than that she is very much like a modern young person. Let's keep this conversation going. Fell free to keep asking. I will always answer even if it takes a while.

sorry  but this post  bugs the  crap out of me..
then I had to remind myself you are dealing with a  what 14 year old entity which may explain it .

okay guides, twins, helpers DO NOT get annoyed...sigh yes when they are exhasberated  with us  but then they normally make a joke out of it.

it does not really matter that she is Canadian...if she is on other side  she is at the  know all see all been there ..done that place unless she has only had one life  as a human and that is very doubtful.

I have had millions of  trips here as have had many many lessons to learn over and over...as have most of us

before souls  come to a earth life they take many classes on the other side in schools of learning.

so her responses make no sense to me.. I can only liken it to her having died only a few years ago and her young age...other then that I ...well I will keep it to myself for the time being.
