The Deer Animal Totem Empty The Deer Animal Totem

Post by Vanilla2 September 19th 2009, 8:12 am

For the first time in 4/5 years we had a visit in the field at the end of our garden by a Deer, I have looked up the Totem meaning of this and feel so inspired with what it tells me..............

DEER

Woodland dreams of intuition come with the graceful deer.
I greet you, brothers of the forest.
Your gift of magic will brighten my life.
Transformation will come to me.
Like you, I stand listening to the drum beat of life,
Poised to follow my guiding spirits.

Gentleness and Innocence

Deer teaches us to use the power of gentleness
to touch the hearts and minds of
wounded beings who are in our lives.

Don't push towards change in others,
rather gently nudge them in right direction
with the love that comes from a Deer totem.

When a Deer totem shows up in your life,
a new innocence and freshness in about to be awakened.
There is going to be a gentle lure of new adventures.
There will be an opportunity to express the gentle love
that will open new doors for you.

Thank you White-Shaman for teaching me about Totem animals.

Your very welcome but it is the energy of the deer that deserves your thanks and honor.
I'm so happy for you and this experience!
I would recommend placing an offering of thanks out in his/her honor as a way of showing your thanks. They recognize this and they will honor you with more magic as you build a relationship.
Its all about relationships and honor and respect just like between humans.
As you build it and work on it, it grows. His/Her energy will know!
I place tobacco or herbs sometimes. Its the intent that counts.

THE UNIVERSE IS SOOO ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. One of my guides is Deer and its energy is amazing and free. I remember once riding him into this deep wooded area during a journey trance and feeling the nervousness of "will I find my way back out" only to have it replaced by a sense of wonder and carelessness as we rode to who knows where free and wild. This represented the new innocence and freshness and adventure you mentioned in your totem description to me.
It was an awesome experience. Very Happy Very Happy

P.S.S. I immediately thought of your post yesterday and the pictures you shared when I first read this! How Cool!!!!

What has this to do with "Living in the Present Moment"?
Or is the subject so broad as to encompass any and everything?

This year I met some new deer friends.....

Several were newborns~!

Two of which I was able to pet and talk too~

Mom was watching in both cases and was not afraid, she knew me too!

One little one lives on a golf course and I was able to see her again recently~

She was dancing on the green playing with a most pleasantly bewildered golfer~

Animals respond to our treatment of them....

Shoot them and they are filled with fear......

Love them and they return Love back to us because they are not filled with our fear, but rather are filled with our Love~

Oh yes Sparrowhawk, animals have feelings too. It was so good of mom to watch over and to have trust in you, animals can and do sense whether our intensions are good or bad, not always do they get it right. Animals can be too trusting especially when faced with the wrong people that are out to harm them.

Namelees, yes I did accidently post this is the wrong section, nature and wildlife would have been better. But now in hindsight it does have a connection with "awareness of our surrounding"

Vanilla2 you remind me of a too trusting Beaver who sat in the grass motionless. I approached to see if it needed aid as it was in the middle of a golf cart path and thought it may have been run over.

It remained motionless as I walked right up to it and stood a foot away. I asked "Are you ok?" Its cute little black eyes only looking up at me and it still did not move. I repeated "I said.....are you OK?" Quickly it jumped to its feet and ran into the woods. I chuckled as I said to Self "I guess that answers my question, you are ok."

I often remind the critters that I am not like all the humans they will encounter and it is good to remain ever quick~!

The Deer Animal Totem Empty Re: The Deer Animal Totem

Post by Blue Light '81 July 24th 2011, 2:49 pm

After doing my own Totem Animal card reading, I discovered that my Eastern totem is Deer. I'm wondering how I might better interpret her significance, in lieu of this position? She also happens to be at my Left side, which I have known ever since she and Bear appeared to me in a dream (when I was about seventeen). And Bear is on the right. At the time of the dream, I didn't understand their significance at all, but I know now that they walk beside me.

I realize that I am new to these forums, and that my question might seem forward (coming from a stranger). But I have always had and maintained an intensely reverent, and strong relationship with all animals. I am only now attempting to unlock their deeper meaning in my life.

Yes, the animal to the right, "Protects your male side and teaches you that, no matter where you turn, it will be your Father Protector within. This animal also carries your courage and warriors spirit."

The animal to the left is the, "Protector of your female side and teaches you that you must learn to receive abundance as well as to nurture your self and others. The Left- side animal is also your teacher about relationships and mothering."

What's kind of incredible is that on my drive home from visiting a friend in Northern Vermont, I came upon a doe, bounding out off of the dirt road I was on, and back into the woods---truly remarkable, given the post I wrote just hours prior to this encounter!

Blue Light '81 a very warm welcome to you. Welcome

If you look up NATURE AND WILDLIFE (A PRAYER FOR ANIMALS ) within our forum, I made a statement Sept 18th 09, quoting: "I once saw a deer" which was in the field at the bottom of our garden.

If you now look at my post above quoting: "for the first time in 4 / 5 years we had a visit in the field at the end of our garden by a Deer".

Now have you noticed the date of this posting. Sep 19th 09.

This is your quoting: "What's kind of incredible is that on my drive home from visiting a friend in Northern Vermont, I came upon a doe, bounding out off of the dirt road I was on, and back into the woods---truly remarkable, given the post I wrote just hours prior to this encounter!"

These strange occurances happen for a reason, it is up to us to find its interpretations. But isnt it just wonderful when these so called coincidences happen.

Hello Blue Light '81 Nice to Meet You Very Happy

Your question is most welcomed, although we have never met, i know i speak for everyone here when i say we all consider you a Friend.

I've always felt we are all connected, humans, animals, & all Living Things. We are all on our Lifes Journey.

I just recently read this post & became Very Inspired with Animal Totems, so i'm learning from everyone here, about their experiences. I know this is a thread for the Deer, but just wanted to say i saw a Skunk peeking his head out of the Garden Last Night & remembered reading here about the Deer Totem, which inspired me to look up the meaning for the Skunk. I look forward to reading and learning more about the Deer Totem.

Many Blessings
